Depends, most times you just take the token out of the coin comparator and replace it with a quarter.

On a IGT/Bally machine you simply switch the coin in the coin comparitor. Some machines have had the coin comparitor removed and a token only IMONEX has been installed. There is a set screw on this that can adjust the size and it can then use quarters or you can swap it back to a coin comparitor - sometimes in an attempt to make these token only people cut the wires to the coin comparitor circuits. In this case you can buy a quarter sized IMONEX. I think Happ sells these.
If you have one of those Japanese Pachislos there are about 4 to 5 different coin mechs (no electronic comparitors) and I would be best to refer you to www.pachitalk.com .A lot of people want to convert this, then they want to add on an auto-stop chip, then a slot arm etc. These skill stop machines were designed for tokens and you will often find that even though you can get them to use quarters the hoppers frequently jam as they are not setup for that. If you want a quarter based Vegas machine buy one. If you want an authentic Japanese Pachislo buy one, but trying to convert one to the other is just throwing good money after bad and the end result loses its value.
